You could be eligible for up to £2000 funding
The Government has launched a Growth vouchers programme which offers expert advice to small businesses. I applied myself and have been accepted both to receive the funding and to be a Growth Voucher Advisor. This means that you can get specialise advice from me on Coaching and Wellbeing or HR in your business. Strategic advice can be sought in the following areas:
- finance and cash flow
- recruiting and developing staff (Our advice comes in this category)
- improving leadership and management skills
- marketing, attracting and keeping customers
- making the most of digital technology
Eligibility Criteria:
Your business must:
- have 49 employees or less (including any employees of companies that own a stake in your business)
- be registered in England
- have been actively selling goods or services for at least 1 year
- not have paid for strategic business advice in the last 3 years
- be independent (ie no more than 25% is owned by other businesses or organisations)
It is easy to apply in just a few short stages:
Stage 1: apply to join the programme at: www.gov.uk
Stage 2: An appointment will be made with an advisor face to face or over the telephone
Stage 3: The Advisor will agree with you which area of business you would most benefit from the strategic advice. You will then be told on the same day if you have been successful or not. This is the strange bit – whether you receive a voucher or not will be decided at random, no assessment about the viability of the business will be made, but the statistics are quite high for acceptance at the moment.

Stage 5: Agree what support you would like and the vouchers will cover up to half of the cost of paying for strategic advice up to a maximum of £2,000 (exl VAT)
Stage 6: Claim back the subsidy on proof of receipt
