Old Year Resolutions

It strikes me as a little wrong that every year we start by looking at ways we can change ourselves to make this year better than the last. What if everything you are is everything you need? How many of you have previously set a few NY resolutions to:

  • lose weight
  • get fitter
  • improve your relationships
  • improve your finances

CNV00009 (2)Yes, I think we all have? But do you actually achieve them? I am not saying that it isn’t a good thing to challenge ourselves with something new, but when it comes to being happier (because that is al we are really trying to do), I believe we have everything we need to be happy right now. Why do I know this to be true? Because it is our thoughts that become our reality through our choices, actions and behaviours. Being happy isn’t just about thinking happy thoughts, but when you realise that what you are currently experiencing is just the result of a thought, everything becomes temporary, wait for that thought to pass, and everything can be different in an instant. Our natural state of being is a state of wellness, therefore if you are feeling anything other than “well”, it is the result of a thought.Therefore, although we all have stuff that happens in our lives, ow we react to that is the result of how we process that thought. When contemplating the questions below, consider, just how brilliant you already are.
